2023 Annual Conference of Asian Association of Police Studies (AAPS)
Taipei, Taiwan
December 19-21, 2023
The Asian Association of Police Studies (AAPS) aims to promote scholarly, scientific, practical and professional knowledge exchange concerning policing and crime control. This includes the evaluation and development of police system and activities, legislation and practice of criminal law, as well as the law enforcement, judicial and correctional system based on comparative perspectives.
AAPS will co-organize a conference with Central Police University, with the sponsorship of Ming Chuan University, Agency of Corrections, Criminal Investigation Bureau, New Taipei City Government and Taiwan Police Policy Association. The theme of the 2023 AAPS conference, “Criminal Justice and Technological Advancements in the 21st Century,” encourages an exchange of visions and experiences between researchers and practitioners in the fields of policing, criminology, and criminal justice. The keynote speeches will focus on how the use of different technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics, CCTV, body-worn cameras, mobile technology) in the criminal justice field affects crime prevention and control. We encourage submission of papers on any topics that tackle policing, criminal justice, corrections, or criminology issues.
The registration fee for the conference is $350 US dollars ($250 for students), which includes 3 days (2 nights) hotel accommodations (Dec 19-21), meals during the conference, transportations between the hotel and conference venue, and $100 membership fees. The registration fee for local participants who do not need hotel accommodation is $ 100. The due date for the abstract submission is October 31, 2023. Please click on the hyperlink or scan the QR code below for abstract submission.
All submitted abstracts will be peer reviewed. Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified by November 10, 2023, and the full paper or PowerPoint slides are due on November 30, 2023. Full papers or PowerPoint slides should be submitted as attachments to [email protected] (papers should follow the APA style format).
AAPS has its own journal, Asia Pacific Journal of Police & Criminal Justice (APJoP&CJ). Quality papers submitted to this conference will be given priority to publish at a special issue of APJoP&CJ.
