Invitation to attend 2019 AAPS annual conference

Invitation to attend

2019 Annual Conference of Asian Association of Police Studies (AAPS)
Taoyuan, Taiwan

December 15 -17, 2019

Central Police University, Taiwan
Asian Association of Police Studies

The theme of the 2019 AAPS conference, Progression and Challenges in Modern Policing,”
encourages an exchange of visions and experiences between researchers and practitioners in the
fields of policing, criminology, and criminal justice. The keynote speeches will focus on how the use
of different technologies (e.g., AI, big data analytics, CCTV, body-worn cameras, mobile technology)
in law enforcement affects crime prevention and investigation, and what impact digital policing may
have on democracy.
But we encourage submission of papers on any topics that tackle policing,
criminal justice, or criminology issues.

The registration fee for the conference is $350 US dollars, which includes 3 days hotel
accommodations (Dec 15-17), meals during the conference, transportations between the hotel and
conference venue, and $100 membership fees. The due date for the abstract submission is October
15, 2019, and the full paper is November 15, 2019.

AAPS also plans to re-launch its journal,
Asia Pacific Journal of Police & Criminal Justice (APJoP&CJ),
in conjunction with the 2019 conference. Papers submitted by the conference deadline of
November 15 will be considered, with their authors’ permission, for a special issue of
APJoP&CJ.
The issue is scheduled to be published in early 2020, with other papers being included in the
Conference Proceedings following the conference.
